I wish to thank my good friend and business partner, Nick Lurowist, for creating the image above and for his role in compiling the information below.

There is a concept in the corporate world called “continuous improvement.” This roughly refers to the notion of assiduously reviewing processes and improving them on a continuous basis. The best means of doing this is to involve all employees in the process so that everything is challenged in a structured manner and anyone can propose constructive changes. When companies employ this on a broad basis, it is often said that they have a “culture of improvement.”

Another common notion is called “change management.” This refers to the ability to help people accept change as a fundamental tenet of corporate life. Change management wouldn’t be necessary if employees didn’t regard change as a threat and approach it with fear rather than embracing it, but fear and suspicion are the norm. This is often caused by top-down management approaches where employees have little empowerment and feel that things “happen” to them. It should be no surprise to you that companies that practice continuous improvement tend to be the ones who are best at change management. life I mention the above because the way you run your life presents a great opportunity for continuous improvement and skillful change management—especially if you use the many tools presented in this book. Setting goals and using the concept of thoughts create results are at the heart of this process. They help you create your own change management and continuous improvement by constantly cycling through this process throughout your life. When you do this, we call it “the success cycle,” and it is illustrated in the diagram above.

The success cycle usually starts with a goal or, at least, a notion of a more desirable state of your life. The first part of the cycle is a clarification of the goal and a review of the concepts that you will use to achieve your goal. By this, I mean the thoughts create results concepts that are explained in this book. After a while, this step will be a fundamental part of how you approach all goals, and it will be second nature to you. goals concept

The next step in the cycle is to seek out the right “application” for achieving your goal. What we call an application is a structured approach to how you think about your goal. Over the years, many fine minds have experimented with specific thoughts that relate to specific outcomes. By taking advantage of this past work, you can accelerate the process of achieving your goals. For example, if your goal is to be rich, you will get there faster by embracing the mindset of the rich—and there are many helpful resources in that area, including this book.

The next part of the cycle is to take the actions that are driven by your thoughts. Helpful tips for doing this are contained in the applications mentioned above. Another very powerful means is coaching. Coaches have been where you want to go. They know how to turn thoughts into actions, and they know how to conquer the fears that accompany bold new actions. Coaching is a valuable resource. It is not necessary in order to achieve your goals, but it can get you there much faster.

Finally, you need to monitor your results. Are you getting what you want? There are applications that help you review your outcomes and adjust your thoughts appropriately. This is a tweaking process. In some cases, you may discover that your goal needs tweaking also. Often, the achievement of a goal creates an awareness of a new desire that was not even on your mental landscape when you started the cycle. Now, like in the continuous improvement process mentioned earlier, you are making adjustments and reaching higher.

The success cycle never ends, and you will enter many cycles as you apply the tools to your collection of dreams. Using success tools enables you to cycle faster and more effectively. Other tools, beyond specific thought applications and coaching, include Mastermind groups and planned events. The latter two allow you to share your experiences with others and learn from theirs. It also provides an opportunity to leverage the energy and spiritual power of others as you travel your unique path.
